This customer wanted an updated Kitchen, but also wanted to make better use of the space. They were using their formal Dining Room as a catch all mainly as an office. There was limited space for storage so we needed to design the Kitchen to accommodate the needs of this five person family. We took out the wall that separated the Kitchen and Dining Room. We were then able to design a small walk-in pantry to house all their larger appliances. Next to the pantry we created a desk/computer area with plenty of cabinetry to hold papers, projects, etc. As for the Kitchen, it is a narrow space and the customer wanted an island. We were able to build a very functional, long island, with plenty of storage and a countertop with an overhang for seating where the kids do their homework. All the cabinetry is made of Alder wood, stained to look like Cherry.
